2017 Top Toffee Awards Announced

We are proud to present the results of the 2017 TOFFEE AWARDS Competition.

The International Chocolate Salon Awards for the 2017 TOFFEE AWARDS are based on the combined total number of votes received by each entrant from the Judging Panel.

The Judging Panel consists of National and Regional Magazines, Newspaper and Blog Editors, plus Topic Experts, Local Chefs and Food Gurus.

The award winners below have the honor of being able to display and use the Official Award Winner title and award logos, as well as use items (such as the Award Winner lapel pin), as well as use Custom Award Certificates, and logo award merchandise.

Ruth's Dark Chocolate

Tombo--all of them..

Ruth's. Great balance of salty, chewiness, reminds me of baked goods. Flaked off perfectly. Good texture.

Mel's Maple Bourbon Pecan + Mel's Raspberry Toffee Mom Yvonne's Toffee

Tomo Toffee Dark Chocolate Toffee was my favorite.

Personally I like the EH Chocolatier Brown Butter, Also the texture of the Cochu sponge (dark).

MomYvonne's Candy Company Oreo Crunch Toffee

Ruth's Toffee Almond Toffee -- Dark Chocolate. Close second is Tombo Toffee Orange - No. 11.

My personal favorites were Chocolate Inspirations, EHChocolatier Brown Butter Toffee, and Rosie Rae's Toffee Peanut Butter and Chocolate Toffee.

Tomo Toffee Dark Chocolate Toffee, with its roasted almond crunchy nuttiness and quality chocolate, makes it a classic. Blue ribbon product.

I was impressed with the ingredients of the AVA toffee, however I found it too hard, perhaps the sugar had become a tad hard during caramelization process. Flavors were spot on however!!

So many fabulous toffees! Hard to pick a winner, but the Oreo Crunch from MomYvonne's just squeaks ahead!

Cochu Chocolatier's sponge toffee takes me back to my youth. The sponge toffee was great. EHChocolatier's Brown Butter Toffee was exquisite, elegant and the pinnacle in flavor. Rosie Rae's peanut butter and chocolate toffee was all around the perfect blend of texture, flavor, and yum! Mel's Toffee collaboration toffee with Dark Horse Brewery Raspberry Ale resulting in a winning combination. The raspberry shined alongside with the toffee in a delightful combination.

EH Chocolatier really, really good. All Tombo really, really good.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CHOCOLATIERS

Keep it simple. Great chocolate, good nuts..

Ava's packaging was very elegant and should have kept the toffee fresh, and the toffee tasted quite good upon opening, though it was one of the ones that really stuck to one's teeth. However, after a few days it started to "weep" (got wet-gooey), even with the bag tightly sealed. The chocolate taste is excellent, but maybe that coconut sugar doesn't work as well as all cane sugar? Also, there's on such thing as "grass-fed butter," but there is "butter from grass-fed cows."
